BRS finds Indiramma saree bundles dumped in Secunderabad Cantonment godowns

BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank alleged that thousands of Indiramma sarees meant for distribution to women in Secunderabad Cantonment have remained locked in godowns for nine months, accusing the Congress government of wasting public money. He demanded immediate distribution by local MLA N. Sri Ganesh.

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Secunderabad Cantonment leaders on Friday visited godowns at Cantonment Workshop in Secunderabad Cantonment and said Indiramma sarees meant to be distributed to women lay undistributed for months and were left to rats.

BRS official spokesperson Manne Krishank visited the godowns and alleged that thousands of Indiramma sarees, which were supposed to be distributed to women’s groups in November 2025, still lay in a godown at the Cantonment Workshop. He criticised the government for allowing public money to go to waste by failing to distribute the sarees to women.

Krishank said in a press release on Friday that the chief minister and ministers announced that one crore Indiramma sarees would be distributed across Telangana, but women across the Cantonment still did not receive the sarees even after nine months. He questioned Congress Party leaders on why sarees procured for women were kept locked away in godowns instead of being distributed.

Recalling the KCR government’s period, Krishank said Bathukamma sarees were distributed to women ahead of the Dasara and Bathukamma festivities.

Krishank demanded that Secunderabad Cantonment Congress MLA N Sri Ganesh ensure the sarees lying in the godown were distributed to women without further delay.
