Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Saturday described the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a moral victory for students.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao posted on X, “The power of the people is always greater than the people in power. Gen Z.”

BRS Deputy Floor Leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav said Pradhan’s resignation was a victory for democracy, students and the youth.

“Hats off to the students on behalf of the BRS party. The nation is proud of these students,” Srinivas Yadav said at a press conference here on Saturday.

He said both the Central and State governments should act with caution, as the mindset of the younger generation was changing and people were closely watching political developments.

Srinivas Yadav alleged that despite lathi-charge incidents, repression and attempts to brand students as anti-nationals, the agitation forced the Centre to retreat. He recalled that KT Rama Rao and other BRS leaders had expressed solidarity with the students on Friday after recognising the genuineness of their struggle.

“Governments must treat this as a lesson. Political parties should be careful while announcing manifestos and making promises,” he said, adding that sustained student pressure had compelled the authorities to shut Parliament gates.

BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan, in a post on X, said, “In a democracy, however intoxicating the arrogance of dominance may be, it must eventually crumble before collective student consciousness. This is a victory of youth power and questioning voices.”
