Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar has demanded that the government issue a lookout notice against Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s son Sai Bageerath and immediately take him into custody.

Speaking to newsmen at Kagaznagar on Monday, Praveen Kumar questioned why Bageerath had not been arrested even three days after a case was registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. He alleged that the police were extending support to the accused by threatening the victim’s family and pressuring her parents to withdraw the case.

He demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah sack Bandi Sanjay from his ministerial post. He accused former journalist Sangappa, who joined the BJP, of threatening the girl’s family. He wanted the government to include Sanjay and Sangappa in the case for their alleged role.

Praveen Kumar opined that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had failed as the home minister of Telangana by delaying the arrest of Bageerath. He found fault with Revanth Reddy for stating that Sanjay was his friend. He alleged that Revanth Reddy was bringing up phone tapping and Formula One cases to divert public attention from the case booked against Sanjay’s son.

He accused Revanth Reddy and minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy of causing injustice to a minor girl out of fear of cases registered against them by the Enforcement Directorate and CBI. He questioned why Congress women ministers and leaders were not commenting on the case. He also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing Sanjay to sit next to him.

Praveen Kumar expressed concern over the alleged inaction of the police in investigating the case for three days. He demanded that the police launch a search operation and nab Bageerath at the earliest.
