Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar expressed displeasure over officials for delaying the payment of compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of a tribal pregnant woman who was killed by her uncle for marrying outside her community at Gerre village recently. He consoled the relatives of the woman on Friday.
Praveen Kumar enquired with officials about the delay in processing the cheque for Rs 4.10 lakh, which was handed over to the relatives on November 11. He faulted officials for showing negligence in getting the cheque cleared. He wondered why the funds were not credited to her account till now.
On October 18, Shivarla Sattaiah attacked Thalandi Rani (21), his daughter-in-law, with an axe and a knife for marrying his son, resulting in her instant death. Rani was expected to deliver in a week or two. She was alone at the time of the incident.
