Hyderabad: Making a scathing attack on the Congress government ending the rescue operations in the SLBC tunnel project, former minister S. Niranjan Reddy on Saturday pointed out the government had no information on the fate of the six of the eight workers went missing after the February accident.
The bodies of only two of the eight workers were unearthed so far. Their whereabouts could not be traced despite 63 days of operation involving multiple state and Central organisations. The rescue efforts were suspended abruptly leaving the bereaved families of the missing workers in agony.
Reddy criticized the government for initiating tunnel work without proper planning or review, leading to the tragic loss of lives. He further accused ministers of prioritizing personal agenda over addressing the disaster.
