Hyderabad: BRS leaders on Monday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of using gangster-like language against the BRS to divert public attention from infighting within the Congress.
BRS leader Gattu Ramchander Rao said Revanth Reddy’s speech at a public meeting in Khammam showed his political insecurity and ignorance of history. He said the Chief Minister engineered media leaks against his own ministers and, unable to contain the fallout, resorted to provocative statements. “Is he a Chief Minister or a goon? Calling for the demolition of BRS flagposts is criminal incitement,” he said.
Ramchander Rao ridiculed Revanth Reddy’s attempts to invoke late NT Rama Rao and late YS Rajasekhar Reddy to target the BRS. “Did the BRS even exist during NTR’s time? KCR had only defeated Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP,” he said, daring Revanth Reddy to resign from the Congress and contest on a TDP ticket from Khammam.
BRS leader Manne Goverdhan Reddy accused Revanth Reddy of shifting positions for political gain. “Which party does he belong to, Congress or TDP?” he asked, warning the Chief Minister against making wild statements. He said Revanth Reddy had no moral right to target the BRS when basic governance, including sanitation, streetlights, power supply and urea distribution, was collapsing. “The people will bury this arrogance,” he declared, asserting that the BRS would dominate the upcoming GHMC polls.
