BRS leaders criticize Rahul Gandhi for cancelling visit to Telangana fearing public backlash
Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan, they said the Congress party had released the schedule for Gandhi’s visit, but it was cancelled sensing the mood of the people in the State
Hyderabad: Stating that the Congress party support base was on the wane, former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and former MP Malothu Kavitha criticized Rahul Gandhi for cancelling his scheduled visit to Warangal.
Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan, they said the Congress party had released the schedule for Gandhi’s visit, but it was cancelled sensing the mood of the people in the State. All sections of the people were feeling betrayed by Congress Party’s policies and programmes.
The BRS leaders stated that Rahul Gandhi had cancelled his visit to Warangal fearing a backlash from the people. They mentioned that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had failed to deliver on promises made to farmers by Rahul Gandhi and hence facing the consequences.
Sudarshan Reddy also stated that Congress leaders were scared of visiting Telangana. They lacked the courage to hold local elections.
Kavitha highlighted the successful public meeting by BRS working president KT Rama Rao held in Kodangal. She said the overwhelming response evoked by him was an indicator to the growing aversion to Revanth Reddy in his own constituency.
