Hyderabad: Former Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah, former MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and MLC Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao dared Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari to immediately resign from his post after he openly admitted to having defected to the Congress. They urged Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar to disqualify Srihari immediately.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Rajaiah accused Srihari of making false claims on development after years of holding key posts.
“Did he remember development only now? For 15 years as Minister, MP and MLC, he did nothing for Station Ghanpur. He changed the party only to make his daughter an MP,” he said. He stated that Srihari always changed parties for his political gains, but not for development of his constituency.
Citing the Supreme Court’s directive to the Speaker to act within three months, Vinay Bhaskar said Rahul Gandhi holds the Constitution in one hand, while his party buys MLAs with the other. If Srihari has ethics, he must resign and seek a fresh mandate,” he said, adding that the veteran leader was working only to secure his daughter’s political future.
MLC Ravinder Rao charged Srihari with bringing shame to erstwhile Warangal district by shifting parties for personal gain. “What more evidence does the Speaker need? If Srihari has courage, he should resign,” he said, vowing to continue the fight until all defected MLAs quit. He also cautioned Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar against delaying a decision, as ignoring the Supreme Court order would amount to contempt.
