Hyderabad: Former MLAs Alla Venkateshwar Reddy and Patnam Narender Reddy criticised Congress MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy for his remarks against senior BRS leader T Harish Rao over his comments on the proposed Future City project. They asserted that the Future City project will have no future after the BRS comes to power.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan, Venkateshwar Reddy alleged that the Congress government was pursuing real estate interests under the guise of the Future City project. Reiterating Harish Rao’s remarks made during his US visit, he said the BRS will cancel the project after coming to power.

He said around 13,500 acres had originally been acquired for Pharma City with the objective of consolidating pharmaceutical industries at a single location. He accused the Congress government of deviating from the original purpose and engaging in political attacks whenever BRS leaders raised the issue.

The former MLA also alleged that investor confidence in Telangana had weakened under the Congress government and demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy release a white paper on investments secured from agreements signed during his Davos visits and on declining IT jobs in the State.

Patnam Narender Reddy alleged that the Future City project primarily benefited individuals close to the Chief Minister. He questioned the number of companies that had committed investments in the project and demanded transparency regarding investment proposals and approvals.

He accused Congress legislators of attempting to divert attention from public issues through political rhetoric.
