BRS leaders hit back at Revanth Reddy over land allegations

Hyderabad: BRS legislators G Jagadish Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy and MLC Naveen Kumar hit back at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his allegations concerning the lands of BRS leaders and their families. They challenged him to substantiate the claims with official records.

Speaking to the media, Jagadish Reddy said details of his properties were clearly disclosed in his 2018 and 2023 election affidavits and asserted that not an inch of his land was assigned or inam land.

He alleged that Revanth’s charges against BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, party working president KT Rama Rao, BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao and other BRS leaders were baseless. He accused the Chief Minister of making false statements on the floor of the House.

Prashanth Reddy said Revanth Reddy contradicted himself by first saying Chandrashekhar Rao had 67 acres and later claiming that the farm land comprised over 300 acres of government land, in sharp contrast to his previous claims of 1,000-acre farm house. He also alleged that government land allotted in Sircilla in 2002 for rehabilitation of former Naxalites was now being taken back.

In a separate statement, MLC Naveen Kumar said most of the lands in his name were purchased before 2014 in accordance with the laws then in force. He said his family’s properties had no connection with Dharani entries or the 22-A prohibited list. He also rejected Revanth Reddy’s claim that his family owned land in Siddipet. He said all his assets had been declared in his election affidavits and challenged the Chief Minister to substantiate any allegation with official records.
