BRS staged protest at Nanganur mandal headquarters in Siddipet district on Saturday
Siddipet: Leaders of the BRS Nanganur mandal unit staged a protest on Saturday demanding the immediate release of the Yasangi instalment of Rythu Bharosa for farmers.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Deshapathi Srinivas accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of cheating people with false promises. He alleged that even two-and-a-half years after the Congress came to power, the government has failed to implement the assurances it made to the public.
Srinivas said the Revanth Reddy government had denied Rythu Bharosa payments three times in the last two years. In contrast, he said, the previous BRS government had disbursed Rs.72,000 crore to farmers in 11 instalments despite challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic.
The protest was organised under the leadership of mandal party president Anagoni Lingam Goud. Later, BRS leaders submitted a representation seeking that their demand be brought to the notice of the State government.
