Nirmal: Local BRS leaders alleged that the party’s spokesman Manne Krishank was subjected to torture by jail officials. They addressed the media persons in Nirmal on Thursday.

The leaders regretted that Krishank was shifted to a police station in a small private car flouting norms and compromising his safety. Krishank was forced to move from one place to another.

Krishank appeared before the Nirmal police in connection with a case registered against him for exposing alleged irregularities committed by minister Seethakka in purchasing tablets for Anganwadi workers.

Speaking to media persons, Krishank alleged that he was being harassed even after he was granted bail by the High Court. He said that he was brought from one police station to another police station under the guise of interrogation.

He accused the Congress of targeting those who expose flaws and wrongdoings of the government. He, however, stated that they had faith in the law.

Jail officials from this district were not available for comment.
