Hyderabad: Hundreds of BRS workers, led by the party MLC Madhusudana Chary and Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajshekhar Reddy, staged a protest in the Moulali Industrial Area on Tuesday against the Telangana government’s controversial Hyderabad Industrial Land Lease and Transfer (HILLT) policy.

The protesters raised strong slogans demanding the immediate rollback of the HILLT policy, terming it anti-industry and detrimental to the interests of industrialists and workers in the state. They carried placards that read “Telangana is being looted by the Dandupalyam gang” and “Withdraw HILLT policy immediately”.

The BRS leaders accused the ruling Congress government of harassing industrialists and driving away investments through the new policy. Speaking on the occasion, BRS MLC Madhusudana Chary alleged that the Congress government was deliberately targeting industries established during the previous BRS regime.

“This policy is nothing but a tool to extort money and settle political scores. The government must withdraw HILLT immediately, or the industrial sector in Telangana will collapse,” he warned. MLA Marri Rajshekhar Reddy called the Congress rule a “Dandupalyam loot”.
