Raising slogans against the State government and local MLA Medipally Satyam, BRS leaders alleged that the Congress government was attempting to suppress the opposition’s voice by resorting to “illegal arrests”.

They asserted that there was no question of fearing arrests and said farmers and the public were ready to resist Natarajan’s yatra.

Those taken into custody included former Market Committee chairmen Mamidi Thirupathi and Puduru Mallesham, along with former sarpanches Panjala Jaganmohan Goud, Karunakar, Lachaiah, Jupaka Munindar and others.
