Adilabad: The 26th Foundation Day of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was celebrated grandly across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Monday.

Cadres of the BRS hoisted party flags at the party offices and hailed former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for spearheading the Telangana movement and effectively administering the State for two terms in a row. They opined that Rao was the only protector of the State. They wanted his return to office for continuity of development and welfare schemes.

Meanwhile, residents of Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal unfurled the flag in their agricultural fields to mark the occasion. They recalled that Rao achieved Telangana by staging a fast-unto-death, which prompted the Centre to carve out a separate State. They regretted that farmers who were leading a happy life due to schemes introduced by the BRS were now facing a slew of hardships.
