BRS minority leader seeks SIT probe into Tolichowki POCSO case
BRS Minority Cell general secretary Abdul Muqeet Chanda has sought a comprehensive investigation into a POCSO and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act case registered at Tolichowki police station, alleging sexual exploitation of a minor girl.
Hyderabad: BRS Minority Cell general secretary Abdul Muqeet Chanda has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the POCSO and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA) case registered at the Tolichowki police station and the immediate arrest of persons involved in the sexual exploitation of a minor girl.
In a statement, Muqeet Chanda urged Director General of Police, CV Anand to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) headed by an ACP-rank officer to identify those who had sexually exploited the minor girl for a month and secure stringent punishment for the perpetrators.
Expressing concern over incidents involving alleged kidnapping, illegal confinement and trafficking of minor girls into prostitution in Hyderabad, he urged the police to identify the networks involved in such crimes and initiate stringent legal action.
Muqeet Chanda said that, during the previous BRS government’s tenure, strict action initiated by then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and BRS working president and former Minister KT Rama Rao helped curb contract marriages and other illegal practices that victimised minor girls.
