BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy’s arrest a heinous act: KTR
Says Congress government cannot hurt the self-confidence of BRS leaders who emerged from Telangana statehood struggle
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has condemned the arrest of Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, calling it a “heinous act” and demanding his immediate and unconditional release.
In a statement, Rama Rao criticised the Congress government for getting habituated to filing false cases and arresting BRS leaders frequently. “The arrest of Kaushik Reddy is undemocratic and indicates the Chief Minister’s attempt to divert attention from his incompetence to deliver his promises,” he said.
He charged the Congress with using oppressive measures to silence opposition voices, particularly after Kaushik Reddy questioned the government on unfulfilled promises such as the crop loan waiver and the abandonment of the Dalit Bandhu scheme in his Huzurabad constituency.
The BRS working president declared that the Congress government, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, cannot hurt the self-confidence and determination of the BRS leaders who emerged from Telangana statehood struggle, with its petty politics. He went on to question the Chief Minister’s inaction against the BRS MLAs who defected to the Congress, while being vengeful against the BRS leaders who are questioning the government on public welfare.
