Hyderabad: BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Saturday accused Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy of making false allegations against him over land he owns at Vattinagulapalle, and attempting to mislead people in the State. He challenged the Minister to either prove the allegations or resign.
Speaking to the media, Rajeshwar Reddy said he had entered into an agreement for 1.1 acres at Vattinagulapalle before Telangana was formed and registered it in the first month after State formation.
He said a court had ruled in 2008 that the land was not Bhoodan land and a No Objection Certificate was issued by the then government in this regard.
He alleged that a person acting on behalf of the Revenue Minister approached him seeking to purchase his land and, after he refused, his property was included in the 22-A prohibited list within 10-15 days to allegedly blackmail him. He said though he owned only 1.1 acre, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy made false charges that he owned 29 acres. He vowed to resign as MLA and quit politics if the allegation was established.
