Hyderabad: BRS Jagtial MLA K Sanjay on Friday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his remarks on black magic and occult practices, stating that such language was inappropriate in a modern society. He questioned the message the Chief Minister was sending to students and future generations, suggesting him to exercise restraint in his public statements.

“Revanth Reddy’s remarks on black magic indicate his poor taste and state of mind. Did he use them on people of Telangana to become the Chief Minister?” he asked. He took a dig at Revanth Reddy, stating that the latter was suffering from Dunning-Kruger syndrome and bipolar disorder, due to which he was overestimating himself and making contradictory statements.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Friday, Sanjay raised concerns over the new pension application form allegedly not having a separate column for beedi workers. He said beedi workers were ignored in united Andhra Pradesh and that pensions were extended to them during the K Chandrashekhar Rao government. He questioned whether existing pensions for beedi workers will be withdrawn.

He alleged that the Congress government was reducing pension coverage, while spending heavily on publicity and other events. He said the previous BRS government provided pensions to 45 lakh people and demanded clarity on the reported deletion of existing beneficiaries and addition of new ones.

The BRS MLA criticised the government over the alleged discontinuation and delay of welfare schemes, including KCR Kits and Kalyana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak schemes. He alleged that Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak financial assistance was being delayed until after childbirth instead of being provided at the time of marriage.

He also objected to photographs of the Chief Minister and Ministers being printed on ration cards for publicity. He pointing out that the Congress was left with less than two years in power and should wasteful expenditure on publicity should be avoided to ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes.
