Hyderabad: BRS LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy charged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy with making baseless allegations against BRS leaders over their properties to divert attention from the 22-A prohibited lands fiasco. He urged Revanth to withdraw his remarks and address problems caused by the alleged officials’ errors in implementing GO 118.

Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday, Sudheer Reddy said a Chief Minister should not make unsubstantiated allegations and alleged that Revanth Reddy was resorting to attacks on BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and other BRS leaders out of fear that his position was under threat. Despite ordering several inquiries against BRS leaders over the past three years, he pointed out that the Chief Minister had failed to establish his allegations.

On Bahadurpura lands, the BRS legislator denied encroaching upon or purchasing any disputed land. He said his son had only approached owners to purchase some land but withdrew from the deal after finding that the documents were not proper. “Does an attempt to purchase land amount to encroachment?” he asked.

He demanded that Revanth and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy first answer the questions raised by the BRS on 22-A lands. He also referred to allegations raised by former Minister T Harish Rao against the Chief Minister’s brothers and the Ponguleti family, demanding that the government respond to them instead of targeting BRS leaders.

Sudheer Reddy alleged that 650 acres had been fenced in Bahadurpura in the name of the bullet train, where an MP close to Revanth Reddy entered into agreement for 300 acres. He also alleged irregularities in compensation to be given to the ousted farmers. He suggested that the Chief Minister should focus on fulfilling his electoral promises in the remaining two-year term.
