BRS MLC criticises neglect of Dundigal Martyrs’ Memorial on Telangana Formation Day

Hyderabad: BRS MLC and Medchal Malkajgiri district president Shambhipur Raju criticised the State government for neglecting the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial at Dundigal on Telangana Formation Day, calling it an insult to the sacrifices made for statehood.
Stating that officials failed to pay attention to the memorial even on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, Shambhipur Raju, along with party activists, cleaned the site and paid floral tributes to the martyrs. He said the neglect of a memorial dedicated to those who laid down their lives during the Telangana movement reflected the government’s indifference towards the history and sacrifices associated with the struggle for statehood.
The BRS MLC questioned the Congress government’s commitment to preserving Telangana’s history and heritage. He urged the government to take immediate steps to protect and preserve martyrs’ memorials across the State. He warned that governments that fail to honour the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs would be judged harshly by history.
