Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Monday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for finding fault with the Supreme Court modifying its interim orders and halting the appointments of Prof M Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan as MLCs under the Governor quota. He alleged that the Chief Minister was politicising the legal process.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sravan said the Chief Minister raised the issue unnecessarily during an academic event at Osmania University and that his remarks were in contempt of the Supreme Court orders. He said Revanth Reddy knowingly nominated Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan despite earlier assuring the court against it.
“We went to the court for justice. How can that be wrong? Prof Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan were not even nominated when we approached the court,” Sravan said.
He further alleged that the Chief Minister was using Prof Kodandaram only to target the BRS.
“If Revanth Reddy is committed to honour Prof Kodandaram, let him resign and give his Chief Minister post or make him a Minister, rather than blame us for seeking justice,” he added.
