Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded an impartial investigation into the alleged drug case in Moinabad on Sunday. He accused the Congress of running a smear campaign against BRS working president KT Rama Rao by falsely linking him with the drug case.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Sravan said the farmhouse dinner hosted by former MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy was attended by people from different political parties, including a TDP MP, and if drugs were indeed found, those responsible must be punished irrespective of their status. However, Congress social media was deliberately maligning Rama Rao. Targeting TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, he said the ruling party was making baseless allegations to divert attention from issues raised by Rama Rao.

He challenged Congress leaders to undergo drug tests along with BRS legislators during the Assembly scheduled to commence on Monday. The BRS would support strict action against narcotics, he said, also warning the Congress against politicising the issue.
