Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president and BRS MLC K Kavitha has launched Singareni Jagruthi, a new platform affiliated to Telangana Jagruthi. Singareni Jagruthi is aimed at protecting the interests of Singareni workers and safeguarding the future of the public sector coal company.

“Resolving workers’ issues will remain the core objective of Singareni Jagruthi,” she said reaffirming BRS’s commitment to the working class.

At a meeting held at her residence in Banjara Hills here on Tuesday, Kavitha interacted with Jagruthi leaders from the Singareni region and appointed coordinators for 11 key operational areas. She declared that Singareni Jagruthi will work closely with TBGKS (Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham) to take up welfare programmes for workers, while also engaging youth and the public through special outreach initiatives.

The BRS MLC reminded that during the BRS rule, dependent jobs were restored and Singareni was protected. She said mired in corruption, the Congress government was driving Singareni collieries Company Limited (SCCL) towards decline. She criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for working in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and remaining silent on the labour code, which she said endangers workers’ rights. She demanded that the government resolve the workers facing challenges due to the alias names issue.
