Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of openly defying the ideology of the ruling Congress party by benchmarking the State’s development vision against the Gujarat Model which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has campaigned against for over a decade.

In a statement, Sravan said Revanth’s admiration for the Gujarat Model amounted to running a private Congress franchise that contradicts the national party’s stated position.

“For 12 years, Rahul Gandhi has campaigned against the Gujarat Model as a system of cronyism and social divide. Yet the Telangana Chief Minister is benchmarking his one-trillion-dollar dream against that very blueprint,” he said.

The BRS MLC questioned whether Revanth Reddy’s overtures towards the BJP which he termed “Bade Bhai diplomacy” represented pragmatic governance or an ideological coup from within the Congress.

He alleged that Telangana’s governance was shifting from a welfare-first to a capital-first approach, pointing to industrial corridors and GIFT City-style hubs as evidence that the Congress government was following “Modi’s GPS rather than Rahul’s roadmap.”

Sravan demanded that the State government issue a White Paper on Central funds received, and explain what tangible financial gains the “Bade Bhai rapport” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi had actually delivered for Telangana.

“Telangana voters voted for the Hand, but the governance is beginning to look like the Lotus. The Congress must clarify whether Revanth Reddy has been granted franchise rights to abandon Rahul Gandhi’s development model in favour of Modi’s Gujarat blueprint,” he said.
