Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan strongly condemned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s repeated remarks against party president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, alleging that they were aimed at diverting attention from the Congress government’s failures. He accused Revanth Reddy of lowering the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office with personal attacks instead of addressing the challenges faced by people and the issues raised by the Opposition.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, Sravan took strong exception to the Chief Minister’s recent remarks against Chandrashekhar Rao, who led the Telangana statehood movement, calling them inappropriate and uncalled for. He said Chandrashekhar Rao dedicated his life to the Telangana statehood movement and deserved respect irrespective of political differences.

The BRS MLC also accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil its promises on employment, claiming that only around 16,000 jobs had been filled despite repeated claims of 70,000 recruitments. He criticised the conduct of the Group-I examination, the implementation of GO 29 and the pace of police recruitment, alleging injustice to unemployed youth.

Sravan said Telangana attracted investments during the BRS regime through TS-iPASS, while industries were now shifting to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh under the Congress government. He said that while the previous BRS government had obtained loans to create productive assets, the Revanth Reddy government had raised loans but failed to create assets for the State.

Alleging that the Congress government was focusing on political rhetoric instead of governance, he said issues such as investments, employment, power supply and agriculture required immediate attention. He urged Revanth Reddy to maintain the decorum expected of a Chief Minister and refrain from making personal attacks against political opponents.
