Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Sunday held the Congress government responsible for the deaths of 22-year-old Aruna and her newborn at Balanagar Primary Health Centre on Sunday. He termed them ‘State murders’, caused due to medical negligence. He demanded a judicial inquiry, suspension of responsible officials, compensation to the family, and urgent healthcare reforms.

Aruna, admitted for delivery at the PHC where no doctor was present, was attended to by nurses and ANMs. After their condition deteriorated, the mother and child were rushed to Gandhi Hospital and Niloufer Hospital, respectively, but died en route.

Stating that the incident exposed the crumbling of public health infrastructure in Telangana, he demanded that the Congress government take moral and legal responsibility. He slammed the government for focusing more on glamorous events, while citizens die from a lack of basic healthcare.
