Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh TDP MPs for their toxic rhetoric against the formation of Telangana, even 12 years after the State’s bifurcation.

He condemned the conduct of MPs Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu for using the floor of the Lok Sabha to demean the identity and existence of Telangana. It was unfortunate that Tenneti Krishna Prasad, the panel speaker, allowed Lavu to attempt to humiliate Telangana and insult the agitation and the separate Telangana martyrs, he said in a statement.

Sravan slammed the TDP leadership for pushing Andhra Pradesh into an abyss of petty factional politics due to administrative failure.
“You prostrated before Prime Minister Narendra Modi but utterly failed to secure the promised Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. Are you now spewing venom on Telangana just to mask your own incompetence?” he asked.

Warning that any attempt to reopen old wounds would not be tolerated, the BRS MLC challenged the TDP leaders to a debate in the Parliament.
“Let us debate every hurdle TDP created from the December 9th declaration until Statehood. Are you ready? Let us expose the ongoing illegal diversion of River Krishna waters by Andhra,” Sravan challenged.

The BRS MLC expressed anger over the silence of Telangana Congress and BJP MPs while the State was being insulted in Parliament.
“Why are you mute? Who are you afraid of? Why didn’t you confront Lavu Krishna Devarayalu? Your silence is a betrayal of Telangana’s self-respect,” Sravan stated.
