BRS MP demands Rahul Gandhi to speak out on ‘Bulldozer Raj’ in Telangana
BRS MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra accused the Congress government of running a Bulldozer Raj in Telangana and urged Rahul Gandhi to clarify his stand on demolitions, rebuild houses for displaced families and review implementation of pre-election promises.
Hyderabad: BRS Parliamentary Party deputy leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra on Monday accused the Congress government of running a Bulldozer Raj in Telangana and demanded that Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi spell out his stand on it during his visit to the State.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Ravichandra said Rahul Gandhi had been visiting Telangana for the past two-and-a-half years, but development remained stagnant. He questioned what guidance Rahul Gandhi had offered Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who was relying on diversion politics rather than delivering effective governance. Pointing to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of the Bulldozer Raj in Uttar Pradesh, the BRS MP asked whether he was aware of similar demolitions in Telangana. He cited the destruction of houses in Ramagundam, Mahabubnagar and Velugumatla in Khammam district, stating that the situation in Velugumatla resembled a Gaza war zone, with poor families displaced and police using force against protestors.
Ravichandra urged Rahul Gandhi to visit Khammam and personally witness the conditions of those evicted from Bhoodan lands. He demanded that the government rebuild houses for the affected families at the same locations. He also called on the Congress leader to review the implementation of the Congress pre-election promises, including the six guarantees and the assurance of two lakh jobs, stating that the party owed accountability to the people of Telangana.
