Dubai: BRS MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra helped in repatriation of mortal remains of a man from Telangana who died in the Gulf region.
When the bereaved family lost hope of a last glimpse of their sole bread winner for financial reasons, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra not only consoled the family but also bore the entire expense of repatriation of the body. Manakala Sriramulu, 58 of Chityal mandal in Nalgonda district was working, allegedly contrary to rules in Saudi Arabia, and passed away a month ago while undergoing medical treatment in Riyadh.
There were some discrepancies in his identification documents.
The financial inability of the family to bear freight cost to bring the body back home further compounded their misery.
The family lost hope of a last glimpse of Sriramulu, which was taken to the notice of BRS Rajya Sabha MP Ravichandra who swiftly swung into action and assured the family help to repatriate the body. He bore the cost of over Rs.2 lakh. Sriramulu’s body was repatriated on Wednesday and cremated the following day in his village, said Mozzam Ifteqar, president of Telangana Jagruti Saudi Arabia chapter.
