BRS pays tributes to Kumram Bheem on birth anniversary
He reminded that the previous BRS government honoured the Gond tribal leaderby naming Asifabad district after him and also developed his native place of Jodeghat into a tourist spot, by constructing his memorial
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao paid tribute to the legendary Gond tribal leader Kumram Bheem on his birth anniversary on Tuesday, remembering his fight for “Jal, Jangal, Zamin” (water, forest, land) and the rights of the weaker sections.
He said Kumram Bheem’s struggle inspired the Telangana statehood movement.
He reminded that the previous BRS government honoured him by naming Asifabad district after him and also developed his native place of Jodeghat into a tourist spot, by constructing his memorial.

Former minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao also paid homage to Kumram Bheem, recalling his fierce advocacy for self-reliance among tribal communities. He lauded the fighter’s role in shaping the tribals’ movement for their rights even before India’s independence.
The BRS organised the birth anniversary celebrations of Kumram Bheem at its party head office in Telangana Bhavan and also district offices, by paying floral tributes. They commemorated the legendary tribal leader’s contributions for the community.
