Hyderabad: Anticipating by-elections in Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency following the High Court’s directions on disqualification of defected MLAs, the BRS is intensifying its preparations. The party working president KT Rama Rao held a meeting with senior party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah in Hyderabad to strategise for the upcoming polls.
Rama Rao exuded confidence in emerging victorious once again in Station Ghanpur, signaling a clear intent to reclaim the constituency. Kadiyam Srihari who won from the BRS in the constituency during the Assembly elections defected to the ruling Congress. The BRS filed a disqualification petition to the Speaker against him and a decision is awaited.
During the meeting, the BRS working president outlined plans to strengthen the party’s presence in the constituency, including a massive meeting of the party cadre to prepare for the bypoll. He criticised the current MLA Kadiyam Srihari for switching parties, describing it as a betrayal of the people’s trust and political selfishness. He assured to intensify the party activities to reinvigorate the party in Station Ghanpur.
Rajaiah, who has been confirmed as the BRS candidate for the upcoming elections, vowed to defeat Srihari, accusing him of disregarding the people’s aspirations. He was tasked with coordinating with local leaders to finalise dates for upcoming meetings.
