Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan reiterated the party’s demand for an immediate halt to Operation Kagar, terming it an “unconstitutional massacre.” He urged the Centre to initiate peace talks in line with democratic and humanitarian principles.
Speaking at a round table meeting convened by the Peace Dialogue Committee at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Sravan said BRS was committed to dialogue and protection of democratic values, reiterating party president K Chandrashekhar Rao’s stance, which he expressed during the Warangal public meeting recently. He asserted that a permanent solution and peace were possible only through a constitutional framework including discussions, not with military-style intervention.
“People do not pick up arms in a haste. It is a result of decades of economic and social inequality,” he said, blaming feudal and capitalist political systems for pushing marginalised communities toward violence. He urged governments to open constitutional platforms for dialogue and create spaces for people to voice their grievances openly.
