BRS seeks Assembly debate on crop loan waiver
Shortly after the session commenced, BRS MLAs raised slogans demanding an immediate discussion on the crop loan waiver. Led by Harish Rao, they called for the waiver of loans up to ₹2 lakh without delay, even as ministers initiated discussions on the annual State budget's demands for grants. As a mark of protest, the BRS MLAs wore black ribbons and urged the government to support farmers.

Hyderabad: BRS MLAs, led by KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, submitted an adjournment motion in the Telangana Assembly on Monday, demanding a discussion on the Congress government’s failure to implement a complete crop loan waiver up to Rs.2 lakh, as promised in the Warangal Farmers Declaration.
Soon after the session began, the BRS MLAs led by Harish Rao raised slogans demanding for discussion on crop loan waiver. They sought implementation of complete loan waiver upto Rs 2 lakh immediately, even as the Ministers moved the demands for grants for discussion on the annual State budget. The BRS MLAs wore black badges as a mark of protest and demanded that the government come to the rescue of farmers.
Separately, CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao moved an adjournment motion seeking job security, housing, healthcare, and pension benefits for journalists. However, the Speaker rejected both the adjournment motions.
