Former MLA Rasamayi Balakishan addressing mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday.
Hyderabad: Former MLA Rasamayi Balakishan launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, charging it with filing false cases against BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy to harass him. He condemned the filing of four cases against Kaushik Reddy for confronting a turncoat MLA in Karimnagar on Sunday.
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Balakishan criticised Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar for defecting to the ruling Congress, after getting elected on behalf of the BRS. “Let Sanjay quit his MLA post and contest on Congress’ six guarantees,” he challenged.
The former MLA pointed out contradictions in the assault allegations against Kaushik Reddy, noting that Sanjay himself denied being attacked. “If no assault occurred, why were cases filed against Kaushik Reddy? This exposes the Congress’ agenda to stifle opposition,” he said.
He came down heavily on the Congress government for ignoring attacks on BRS offices by the Congress cadre, targeting BRS leaders. He questioned why no cases were filed against Congress activists who attacked the Bhongir office of the BRS.
Balakishan warned the Congress government not to mistake BRS’ silence for weakness, vowing to fight against its anarchic rule. He dismissed Sanjay’s statements as baseless rhetoric and appreciated Kaushik Reddy for standing up against oppression.
