Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan termed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy as a traitor of Backward Classes (BCs) for failing to implement BC reservations. He warned that if BC reservations were not implemented, BRS would fight the Congress government. He said the Congress was running the government with a feudal mindset.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, Sravan questioned why Revanth Reddy planned an all-party MPs meeting on Banakacharla, but not on BC reservations. He also criticised the Chief Minister for seeking legal advice for his own cases, but not for the 42 per cent BC reservations.
He questioned the lack of clarity over category-wise reservations in the bill on education and employment. He said the Chief Minister was acting whimsically in fulfilling the BC reservations promise. He demanded the release of the caste census report.
Former BC Commission Chairman Vakulabharanam Krishnamohan said the government has no intention of fulfilling its promise. He rebuked the Busani Commission for lacking experts and questioned its legal standing.
“Revanth Reddy is trying to crush BCs under a road roller,” he said, calling for an independent BC commission and inclusion of BC reservation bills in the 9th Schedule.
