Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan lashed out at both the State and Central governments for failing BC students by denying them rightful reservations in premier law institutions, including NALSAR University of Law.

Addressing mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Sravan said that despite NALSAR being funded by both State and Central governments and having eminent members like Justice Sudarshan Reddy on its board, BC reservations continue to be ignored. “It is shameful that in a law university itself, the rule of law is not being implemented,” he said.

He reminded that after agitations in 2020, the National BC Commission had directed implementation of 27 per cent OBC reservations in all national law universities, along with local quotas. However, BC students are still being denied their due, he said. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is an OBC himself, had failed to ensure justice.

Sravan said a letter had been submitted to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan demanding immediate implementation of BC reservations. “BRS will continue to fight until justice is secured for BC students,” he asserted.

BRSV president Gellu Srinivas Yadav and former BC Commission member Shubhprad Patel also participated.
