Karimnagar: BRS activists on Sunday staged protest demonstrations across the erstwhile Karimnagar district against the Special Investigation Team (SIT) issuing notices to party president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.
Acting on a call given by BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao to hold protests in villages and mandals across the State, party activists staged demonstrations and burned effigies of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Effigies of the Chief Minister were burned in Kothapalli, Boppapur, Guntapalli Cheruvuthanda and other places in Rajanna–Sircilla district.
Speaking on the occasion, BRS leaders said issuing notices to Chandrashekhar Rao amounted to serving notices to the entire Telangana. They alleged that the SIT had deliberately issued the notices to harass the BRS chief.
