BRS to celebrate 10 years of Siddipet district creation from Oct 5
The BRS has announced week-long celebrations from October 5 to commemorate 10 years of the creation of Siddipet district. Former minister T Harish Rao has called upon party leaders and cadre to organise various programmes, highlighting that the long-pending demand for a separate Siddipet district was fulfilled during the tenure of former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Siddipet: The BRS has decided to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Siddipet district creation on a grand scale, beginning on October 5. The creation of the district was a decades old dream, which was fulfilled by the former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Since the district was created on October 11, 2016, the BRS decided to organise week-long celebrations from October 5.
The BRS will organise a preparatory meeting on October 4 in Siddipet under the leadership of former minister T Harish Rao. In a press statement on Friday, Harish Rao called upon the BRS leaders and cadre to be prepared to organise different programmes throughout the week. Since Siddipet is located some 150-km away from Sangareddy, the headquarters of the erstwhile Medak district, the people had made many attempts to secure Siddipet’s status as a separate district.
However, the rulers in united Andhra Pradesh failed to respond to their pleas. But, Chandrashekhar Rao had initiated the process for creation of new districts immediately after coming to power in 2014.
