Hyderabad: The Congress strategy of claiming to unearth assets owned by BRS leaders appears to have boomeranged, with the BRS now demanding an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into the alleged business interests, assets and financial transactions of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his family members.
BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank alleged that the Chief Minister’s family had accumulated assets and business interests worth more than Rs 50,000 crore in the last two years. He demanded that complete details of their assets, investments, companies and business transactions be made public.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he alleged links between Maxbien Pharma, Medicover Hospitals and individuals connected to the Chief Minister’s family. The ownership structures, shareholdings, investments and financial transactions of these companies should be independently investigated, he demanded.
Similarly, Krishank claimed that the financial potential of Sahrudaya Healthcare had increased substantially. The business interests and shareholding patterns involving companies associated with the Chief Minister’s family should also be probed, he said.
“We are placing documents, company records and financial details before the public and investigating agencies,” Krishank said.
The BRS spokesperson also alleged that Rs 13,000 crore of black money was converted into legitimate funds through Medicover-related transactions. The ED should investigate these charges, he demanded.
The investigating agencies should examine the source of funds, beneficial ownership, shareholding patterns, related-party transactions and the movement of money across the companies concerned, he said.
Raising questions over Geetha Automotive, Krishank said five Hyundai showrooms were established in Hyderabad after the Chief Minister’s meeting with senior Hyundai representatives in South Korea.
He questioned the ownership and investment structure of the company and alleged that Dumpa Sirisha, whom he described as an investor, had interests across multiple companies.
“Who are the real investors? Who are the beneficial owners? What is the source of these investments? These questions can be answered only through an independent financial investigation,” Krishank said.
The BRS leader also alleged that the Chief Minister was promoting private businesses associated with members of his family.
“Government hospitals and schools are not being built at the required pace, but private hospitals and educational institutions associated with the Chief Minister’s family are expanding,” he alleged.
Krishank challenged the Chief Minister’s family members to come forward for a public discussion on the allegations.
“If the members of Revanth Reddy’s family come forward for a discussion and prove that my allegations are wrong, I will withdraw them, apologise and never speak about the Chief Minister’s family again,” Krishank said.
Krishank also questioned the financial dealings involving Dumpa Sirisha, asking why she was a partner with Anumala Nymisha Reddy, daughter of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, in a new school being established by her.
He alleged that Dumpa Sirisha had business interests not only in the school but also in Medicover Hospitals and Maxbien Pharma, which he linked to Revanth Reddy’s son-in-law. The nature of these partnerships, investments and financial transactions should be independently investigated, he demanded.
The BRS would submit details and documents relating to the alleged business interests of the Chief Minister’s family to the President of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and leaders of all political parties in Telangana.
The Central government and the ED should conduct a comprehensive and independent investigation into the alleged business dealings, assets, investments, shareholding patterns and financial transactions involving Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his family members, he demanded.
“If the BJP-led Central Government is serious about tackling corruption and black money, it must order an impartial ED investigation into these allegations,” Krishank said.
