Hyderabad: BRS general secretary RS Praveen Kumar on Tuesday challenged Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay to hand over his son Sai Bageerath, to the police in connection with the POCSO case registered against him.
He demanded immediate action against the accused and urged people to question anyone committing wrongdoing irrespective of religion or political affiliation.
Ahead of the Ekta Yatra in Karimnagar, Praveen Kumar challenged Bandi Sanjay to publicly take an oath in a Hanuman temple, that neither he nor anyone related to him had threatened the victim’s family.
“If you are a true Hanuman devotee, surrender your son to the police,” he said. He alleged that Sai Bageerath was absconding and questioned the delay in police action.
Praveen Kumar drew a contrast between Lord Hanuman’s values and the conduct of Sai Bageerath. He pointed out that Hanuman had devoted his life to righteousness and respected women, while Sai Bageerath stood accused of raping a minor girl and remained at large. He said those claiming to be devotees of Hanuman must uphold those values in public life as well.
Appealing to devotees participating in the Hanuman Jayanti Ekta Yatra, he urged them to question Bandi Sanjay over the allegations against his son and the handling of the case.
