Hanamkonda: BRSV activists distributed ‘Student Baki (dues) cards’ to students at Kakatiya University here on Friday.
BRSV leaders Bhairapaka Prashanth and Jatti Rajender said the cards were distributed to remind the public about promises made by the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to students and unemployed youth during the last Assembly elections.
The Congress had gone door to door for power and distributed guarantee cards, misleading the people of Telangana. The promise made by Rahul Gandhi to provide two lakh jobs to unemployed youth every year has not been delivered.
The Congress failed to fulfil its promise of a mega DSC test to fill 20,000 posts and implement a job calendar. Promises of Rs 5 lakh under Vidya Guarantee and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi’s pledge to provide a scooter to every girl student were yet to be implemented, they said.
It was shameful that the Revanth Reddy government claimed credit for government jobs filled by the previous BRS government by distributing appointment letters. The government promised financial assistance of Rs 10,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 25,000 to students who passed SSC, degree, and PG respectively, but not a single rupee was paid, Prashanth said.
Due to non-payment of fee reimbursement dues worth Rs 8,000 crore, the future of thousands of students has been thrown into uncertainty. The same was the case for students studying in private institutions under the Best Available Scheme, he complained.
BRSV leaders Gollipalli Veera Swamy, Konakati Prashanth, Pastham Anil, Pinninti Vijayakumar, Rasuri Rajesh, and others were present.
