Adilabad: BRSV activists staged protests across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Monday, accusing the Congress of spreading misinformation about the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP). As part of the agitation, they performed a ‘jalabhishekam’ to a portrait of Telangana Thalli in Utnoor.

BRSV district president Dharani Rajesh, who led the protest, alleged that the Congress was conspiring to defame the BRS in the name of the Justice PC Ghose Commission report. He warned the ruling party to stop misleading people about KLIP, which he described as a “man-made wonder in the world.”

Rajesh charged the Congress with using fake reports to confuse the public and criticised the government for not allowing the former minister to give a power-point presentation in the Assembly, fearing flaws in the report would be exposed. He asserted that people would teach the Congress a lesson in the next elections.

In Mancherial, activists performed ‘ksheerabhishekam’ to the Telangana Thalli statue at IB Chowk. BRSV Mancherial district segment president Daggula Madhukar demanded the withdrawal of “objectionable comments” made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against former CM K Chandrashekhar Rao. Activists were detained while on their way to join a protest in Chennur.

Similar demonstrations were also held in parts of Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.
