Khammam : A massive and unique Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanam on a sprawling 14 acres of land was being developed at Raghunathapalem near Khammam. The park being developed with an expenditure of Rs 1.50 crore with a mini tank bund, a fountain, walking track, open gym areas and 10, 000 plants would stand out among all the Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanams in the district, stated Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The minister inspected the park works along with SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi on Saturday. He directed the officials to arrange a drip facility for different varieties of saplings planted in the park. He informed that on the occasion of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s birthday on Feb 17 as many as 5000 plants of different varieties were planted in a single day as part of a mega plantation drive. It would be covered by bio-fencing.
A total of 9,000 saplings have been planted so far and the rest of the plants would be planted soon. The mandal officials should take the responsibility to take care of every plant. Plants such as guava, pomegranate, black jamoon, custard apple, parijatham, curry leaves and others that were useful to the people, Ajay Kumar informed.
Ongoing bio-fencing work around the bund was examined. Feel it and want to plant next door. Main gate, Walking track, playground Steps should be taken to have play objects in the designated area, walking track work should be completed, open gym areas should be identified and fitted.
Earlier in the day Ajay Kumar along with District Collector VP Gautham inspected the works of integrated collectorate building being built at cost of Rs 44 crore and directed the concerned authorities to speed up the works.
All the 58 departments would be accommodated at one place under one roof at the collectorate and it was one of the first of its kind initiative taken up in India. It helps to make sure that the people could get access to all the departments at one place, the minister said.
