Hyderabad: A BTech dropout who turned into a drug peddler and supplied ‘Cannabis oil’ was arrested by Malkajgiri Special Operations Team here on Friday. He was supplying the psychotropic drug to customers in Hyderabad through online delivery apps and in person, police said.
The arrested person was identified as V Laxmipathi (24), a resident of Manikonda and native of Beeramguda in Sangareddy district. The absconding persons were Mohan Reddy from Sangareddy district and Nagesh from Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh.
Police said Laxmipathi who was habituated to marijuana subsequently came in contact with drug peddlers in the agency areas of Visakhapatnam. He started illegally procuring marijuana and supplied it to customers here.
“Later he came to know about the Cannabis oil, also called Hashish oil was more in demand than marijuana and is generally not available. As the oil value per litre is more than Rs 1 lakh, he procured it from his sources in agencies and diluted it by mixing Isopropyl alchohol and making small sachets and sold for Rs 3,000 each,” Bhagwat said. He is also delivering the small boxes by online delivery apps.
