Building on legacy: Royal Enfield launches popular ‘Classic’ with 650 CC engine
The Classic 650 will be available in three variants: Hotrod, Classic, and Chrome. It will be available in four colourways: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome.

Chennai: Building on the legacy of the Classic range, Royal Enfield on Thursday launched the Classic 650 at an attractive starting price of ₹3,37,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai).
In a press release, Royal Enfield stated that the Classic range is deeply rooted in the company’s history, with its lineage dating back to the golden age of motorcycling. The Classic 650 seamlessly blends heritage with modernity, tradition with innovation, and nostalgia with contemporary craftsmanship, the company said in the release.
Speaking about the launch, Eicher Motors Limited MD and Royal Enfield CEO B. Govindarajan said, “The Classic 650 is more than just a motorcycle—it’s a tribute to our rich legacy, where timeless design meets effortless performance.”
According to the release, the new Classic 650 retains the same mainframe geometry as the Classic series and features dual seats with an option for pillion seat and rack removal using a single bolt-on mechanism. With bright polished aluminum and a chrome finish on the headlamp unit and front indicators, the Classic 650 maintains its signature post-war British motorcycle styling. Its distinct teardrop-shaped fuel tank and flowing lines from front to tail further enhance its visual appeal.

Hotrod variants (Vallam Red and Bruntingthorpe Blue) are priced at ₹3,37,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai).
Classic variant (Teal) is priced at ₹3,41,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai).
Chrome variant (Black Chrome) is priced at ₹3,50,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai).
