Adilabad: Bullock cart and tractor rallies marked the Rythu Bandhu celebrations in Erstwhile Adilabad district on Monday. Local legislators took part in the event held to mark the milestone of Rs 50,000 crore released for implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Participating in an event organized in Jainath mandal centre, Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna said that the State government was completely supporting the agrarian community in different ways. He stated that it was implementing a slew of schemes for the welfare of farmers. He cited Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema and provision of uninterrupted power to the agriculture sector. He alleged that the union government was cheating the farmers.

Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa, addressing farmers in Koutala mandal headquarters, said that the only government in the country to earmark a huge chunk of funds in annual budgetary allocations for farmers was the State. He stated that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was the real relative of farmers.

The legislator further said that bank accounts of farmers belonging to Sirpur (T) constituency were credited with the funds Rs 500 crore under the scheme. He stated that farmers were now leading a happy life and were able to overcome the financial crisis caused in farming in the past. He was joined by MLC Dande Vittal. He performed Ksheerabhisekam to the portrait of Chandrasekhar Rao.

Similar colorful events were witnessed in Mancherial, Nirmal, Asifabad, Boath, Khanapur, Mudhole, Chennur and Bellampalli assembly constituencies. Farmers voluntarily took part in the rallies and danced to drum beats. The mandal centres and villages wore a festive look following the rallies.
