Hyderabad: One person who was allegedly involved in a burglary was arrested by the SR Nagar police on Thursday, with the police recovering gold ornaments weighing 660 grams, Rs.21.57 lakh, two motorcycles and two mobile phones from him.
The arrested person was identified as C. Aravind (21) of Borabanda and a native of Warangal district. Aravind allegedly broke into the house of a businessman in Yousufguda.
“He was working as a housekeeper in a flat and noticed that another flat was locked for two days. He broke into the flat and stole gold ornaments and cash,” police said, adding that he had admitted his involvement in four other cases in SR Nagar, Sanathnagar and Madhapur police station limits.
Previously, he was involved in 27 cases in Hyderabad, Rachakonda, Warangal and Karimnagar.
Aravind had tried a hand at changing after being arrested in 2020 when the police counseled him. He worked as a food delivery boy, watchman and took up odd jobs.
“However as earnings were less and he was facing financial problems, he resumed criminal activities and committed four offences in the last seven months. He worked as a driver with bike taxi services and while doing the job, he was also identifying potential houses where he could strike,” the police said.
