HYDERABAD: Burglars made away with around Rs 21 lakh in cash, 20 tolas of gold, and other valuables from a house in Habeebnagar on Tuesday night.

The owner of the house had left for the Umrah pilgrimage a week ago, and the house was locked.

A relative, Rahman Mohiuddin, noticed the lock on the front door of his brother’s house had been broken and informed the police. The police reached the spot and collected fingerprints and other clues from the cupboards and doors of the house. Rahman told the police that his brother informed him that around Rs 21 lakh in cash, gold ornaments weighing 20 tolas, and other valuables were missing.

The Habeebnagar police have started an investigation. A case has been registered, and special teams have been formed to identify and track down the burglar.
