Burglars strike at five places in Munugode including forest office, sweet shop
The thieves first broke into the Nagaraju Sweet House, indulged in a feast of sweets, and then emptied the cash box containing Rs 70,000. Subsequently, they targeted the residence of Mudangula Narasimha, a local leader, escaping with Rs 2.50 lakh in cash and other valuables.
Nalgonda: Burglars struck in Munugode early on Thursday, targeting five premises including a sweet shop and the forest office in the village. All the targeted places were under lock and the thieves made off with substantial loot worth more than Rs 15 lakh, including gold ornaments.
The thieves broke into the Nagaraju Sweet House where they had a sumptuous treat with the sweets before emptying the cash box that contained Rs.70,000. They then struck at the residence of Mudangula Narasimha, a local leader, and made off with Rs.2.50 lakh in cash and other valuables. They broke into Venigala Purushottam’s house as well, stealing Rs 60,000 in cash and 500 grams of silver.
In their last strike, they broke into the forest office where they collected all valuables before fleeing the village on two-wheelers they stole from the houses they looted. Police parties have been heavily deployed in the area as part of a manhunt launched in the wake of the spate of the burglaries.
